Problem: As part of the International NASA Space Apps Challenge our team was challenged to identify and visualize the current capacity and potential of countries to be self-sufficient for global food needs.
Situation: The team of five, used NASA data and IBM Bluemix to build the beginnings of a web application which could be used to connect people around the world in conversation about food production and distribution.
Design: The site included a data driven map, which would allow for selection of multiple countries to view food supply. Upon selection, the user would then be able to access resources via links to begin a conversation about global food needs.
